Acupuncture is a non-painful non-anesthetic treatment option that manipulates the nervous system and allows the body a chance to heal itself. At Olmos Park Animal Hospital, Dr. Cross and Dr. Coke are our certified Veterinary acupuncturists. We work with you to identify problems and determine if your pet could benefit from acupuncture.
We have treated patients with chronic pain, disc disease, neurological deficits, and endocrine disease with success. Each animal is evaluated and points are chosen specifically for that patient. Most acupuncture visits will last 20-30 minutes and will be administered weekly for 6-8 weeks.
In some cases, our certified veterinarians may use electrical stimulation to provide a current of electricity that passes from one needle to another needle.
